• Earth Day
  Earth Day 2010 - The Penquis Way Earth Day 2010 Activities in the Penquis Region Earth Day 2010 is on Thursday, April 22nd. The Penquis Leadership Institute is working with communities and service groups in our region to plan the projects. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with the many projects. We are asking volunteers to donate at least 2 hours on April 22nd from 1 to 3 pm at the project site. Area businesses have donated prizes including a movie pass to Center Theatre for the day. The Penquis Leadership Institute believes that local problems are best solved by local leaders. The PLI’s goal is to promote long-term commitment and economic development by broadening the local leadership base. Growing the pool of new leaders is critical to the continued strength of our economy and our ability to maintain vibrant rural communities. By combining general leadership skills and networking opportunities with regional information and issues, the Penquis Leadership Institute provides a unique learning experience for new and emerging leaders who care about this region’s future. To register to be a volunteer go to www.PenquisLeadership.org and click on the “Earth Day 2010” link, then complete the online form to choose your project and enter for the prizes.
